Application-only equipment financing can approve in hours — but only if your paperwork is clean and your vendor quote is complete. Here's exactly what to have ready before you apply, plus what changes for larger requests above app-only thresholds.
Equipment details: dealer invoice or written quote showing make, model, year, and serial or VIN where available. Include soft costs you want financed — delivery, installation, training, warranty, software, tooling. Bundling soft costs into the loan is common and often improves cash flow.
Vendor information: vendor W-9 and wiring or ACH instructions. If it's a first-time vendor for your lender, they may need a short vendor onboarding form. Auction and private-party purchases have extra steps — the lender may require a third-party inspection or appraisal.
Business basics: legal business name (exactly as registered), EIN, entity type (LLC, S-corp, etc.), ownership breakdown, time in business, industry code (NAICS), and business address. Have your voided check ready for ACH setup.
Owner information: full legal name, DOB, home address, and Social Security number for each owner with 20%+ equity. Consent to a soft credit pull for app-only requests; a hard pull for larger deals.
For requests above app-only thresholds (usually >$250K): 2 years of business tax returns, year-to-date P&L and balance sheet, most recent business bank statements (3–6 months), and a personal financial statement for each guarantor.
For titled equipment (trucks, trailers, heavy machinery): title or MSO from the dealer, prior lien payoff if applicable, and insurance binder naming the lender as loss payee before funding.
Startup and challenged-credit programs exist — they just need more context. Bring resume or industry experience, personal bank statements, and any comparable borrowing history that shows performance.

FAQs
Frequently asked questions
How fast can I get funded?+
App-only can approve same day and fund within 24–72 hours once documents are signed and the vendor is verified.
Can I finance a private-party or auction purchase?+
Yes with the right lender — condition, age, and titling matter. Auction purchases often need proof of winning bid and buyer's premium.
Lease or loan — which should I pick?+
$1 buyout loan builds ownership from day one. FMV lease keeps payments lower and lets you upgrade at term end. TRAC leases work for titled vehicles. Talk to your CPA about the tax treatment that fits your situation best.
Do I need a down payment?+
Many app-only programs are $0 down. Larger requests, weaker credit, or used/specialty equipment may require 10–20% down.
Can I finance software or SaaS?+
Some structures allow bundling recurring software, licensing, and implementation with hardware. Ask before you sign a vendor contract.
